If you ever wanted a super deep dive on Super Mario Bros., something to listen to while you were, say, driving from Chicago to North Carolina, Mike White has put together a near-definitive doozy, talking with many of those involved.

Check out Episode 626 of The Projection Booth about the 1993 film, with many special guests — several of whom I have never heard on the record: Jeff Ryan, who literally wrote the book on Nintendo, a majority of the screenwriters, including myself, Jim Jennewein and Tom S. Parker, Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, and Ed Solomon, legendary line producer Fred Caruso, Production Designer David L. Snyder, Visual Effects pioneer Chris F. Woods, and actors Mojo Nixon and Richard Edson. Mike and Chris Stachiw kick things off with an entertaining discussion of the film.

I had a blast talking with Mike, and he did an amazing job stitching together the story, which is more than the movie can say. Click below to listen…
